Author Biography

Dr. Ben Bergman has spent twenty years of his medical career dissecting the lives of others.  The push and pull of medical care is a tour of patient’s minds and mentalities, through both joyful times, and darker times.  From his studies in Boston to New York to Paris, he has witnessed the delicate societal balancing act in health and longevity, in a seemingly unfair world.  This is Dr. Bergman’s first work of fiction, with a second non-fiction book well underway.

About the Book

Kyle, a seemingly ordinary and intelligent man, moves to New York City in search of happiness. Instead, he finds himself as miserable as the grime on the city streets. His world is turned upside down when an unexpected letter arrives, catalyzing a journey of self-discovery that spans continents.

Desperate to find meaning and love, Kyle embarks on a whirlwind adventure. From the romantic streets of Paris to the towering dunes of Europe’s largest desert, he encounters a cast of eccentric characters in cultish bars and navigates treacherous nighttime alleys filled with shouting strangers. Yet, as Kyle soon realizes, his most profound voyage is internal.

As he grapples with his own reflection and delves into his psyche, Kyle uncovers hidden truths about himself and the nature of love. His quest to reclaim a lost connection becomes a transformative exploration of identity, belonging, and the human heart’s capacity for renewal.

This introspective journey, set against a backdrop of vibrant international locales, challenges Kyle to confront his deepest fears and desires, ultimately leading him to a startling revelation that will forever alter his perception of happiness and self-worth.
